Obituary

On Thursday, October 8th 2020, Patricia Alice Smothers “Patty”  loving wife and mother to 5 children,  11 grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren passed away at the age of 66.
Patty was born April 27th, 1954 in Asbury Park, NJ to Yolanda and Robert Nisbet. She later moved to Houston in September of  1980 where she met and married her husband of 38 years, William Smothers Jr.  Together they raised their 5 children, Lisa Melone, William Smothers III, Christina Martin, Joshua Smothers, and Jacob Smothers.  Patty loved to spend her time making creative bottles, picture frames, collages, and many other crafty things for her friends and loved ones alike. She had the biggest heart and loved everyone in her life  with a wonderful passion. She was so kind and forgiving, the most selfless person you’ll ever have met. She was always there when you needed her and her door was always open. She always went out of her way for all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She will be loved forever and missed deeply. 
Patty was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Yolanda Nisbet, her sister Diane Riley, and her grandson Kenneth Martin Jr.  She is survived by her husband William Smothers Jr, her brother Robert Nisbet Jr, her children Lisa Melone, William Smothers III, Christina Martin, Joshua Smothers and Jacob Smothers, as well as grandchildren, Philip Mauceli, Julia Smothers, William Smothers IV,  Zachary Smothers, Brittney Martin, Kody Martin, Joshua Smothers Jr., Cameron Smothers, Luke Smothers and Logan Smothers, also several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many other loved ones. 

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at Freeway Baptist Church, 8702 Kingspoint Rd Houston, Tx 77089 from 1pm- 2pm. Flowers may be sent to the Church.
