Reba Jacqueline Donham McNally was born on February 1, 1938, in Walnut Springs, Texas. She received her angel wings on September 5, 2021. She graduated from Lamar Consolidated in 1956 and then attended Methodist Nursing School. She worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. J.P. McGovern and then finally for Dr. Abbe Ledbetter. She resided in Missouri City.
Reba is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Hattie Davis Donham, sister Betty Donham Radtke and sister-in-law Carolyn Paul Donham. She is survived by her three children: her favorite son, Harry James Briers (Lisa), Kimberly Briers-Moore (Ray), Kelly Briers Hanse (Patrick). Her grandchildren: Melissa Peterson (Ryan), Tyler Briers-Buentello (Kelsey), Ryan Hanse, Brooke Briers (Drew), Amanda Hanse, Abby Briers and Zachary Hanse. Great grandchildren: Garrett and Brayden Peterson and Ridge Briers-Buentello. Her brother Bob Donham along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Reba found purpose in being involved with her children and grandchildren’s lives. She made it a point to attend sporting events, dance recitals, graduations, showers, birthday celebrations and anything else going on. Family holidays and traditions were important to her. She organized the family Easter and Christmas celebrations.
Reba had an amazing sense of humor. She loved to tell and hear a good joke. Her laugh was contagious and she gave the best hugs. She loved to play poker. In the spring, she liked to take a drive to see the bluebonnets and wild flowers. She was a hunter and was an expert marksman. She was a giver and always was willing to help others.
Reba was a very accomplished artist and has filled many households with her amazing oil paintings.
Reba was a Lifetime Committeeman and Judge on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Committee for over 30 years. She enjoyed traveling from school to school in the greater Houston to pick the best artwork produced from elementary to high school students.
Reba was involved in Christ United Methodist Church. She participated in these Ministries: Family Promise and Jubilee Class.
Reba was a social butterfly. She had regular lunches with friends, Bunko, yoga and fitness classes at the YMCA, bingo at the country club and spent time with her neighbors and family playing poker.
We will celebrate her life on September 18th, 2021, at Christ Church Sugar Land 3300 Austin Parkway Sugar Land, TX 77479. We will start gathering at 10:00 AM and the Service will begin at 10:30 AM.
